Sophie Tricoci

Tell us a little bit about your life/career/work path?
- I started my career at a young age. I had a part-time job working at my Aunt's hair salon and I fell in love with the idea of making women feel good about the way they look, so I decided to go to beauty school. And what do you know... it is an industry that still excites me to this day. I continue to educate myself in this ever-changing business. Over the course of my career I've enjoyed doing make-overs for television and magazines. I also love being a guest speaker at women’s groups and give lectures about hair care and current styles. Most of all my work behind the chair, and creating new looks on clients is what fuels me.

What is your passion in life?
- I have many. As a single parent, raising my daughter would be my first. I love hanging out with her, we have a lot of fun together. As well as hiking, food prep. classes, movies, reading, music, and hanging out with friends. And generally putting a lot of fun into life.

What do you like to do to relax?
- I like to kick off my shoes and watch movies. Taking long walks, yoga and art classes also seem to do the trick. As well as listening to music and writing.

What is your favourite story of rebellion?
- I'm sure I have one, but I'd like to think of it more in terms of how it's shaped me. Aren't we all fighting for something we believe in? And isn't that worth being a bit rebellious.

Tell us a relationship that means a lot to you?
- I love the relationship that I have with my daughter. She is a young adult with great passion for life and our conversations are always very interesting. I love that she has her own individuality, thoughts and ideas.

What do you do to release your pent-up stress?
- I have a mini rebounder, on goes the music and I jump on it for a bit. It's silly, but fun. As well as talking with very good friends, it always gives me new perspective on life.

What helps you feel more energetic?
- Life itself. My family, my friends, my career, my personal goals and always finding my true balance.
